Across Nigeria, we are seeing God bring people into a living relationship with Himself through the Alpha Course. The Course is not just an effective tool for evangelism, but also serves as an efective tool for discipleship.

Norminalism
Everyone is encouraged to attend an Alpha Course. Alpha isn't just a great course for new belivers, but it is also rewarding for those who have been christians for a long time, or perhaps have back-slidden and need to be brought back to faith. Even when churches are filled with people, these are often those who can benefit from experiencing a revived faith.

Equipping laity to lead
By encouraging congregation members to help or lead an Alpha Small Group, lay members are equipped to facilitate discussion, lead Bible studies and become peer group leaders.

Training the laity in ministry
During specific sessions on the Alpha Course, participants are encouraged to pray for themselves and one another.

Ecumenism
The Alpha Course fosters interdenominational cooperation.

Teaching on the Holy Spirit
On the Alpha Day or Weekend Away, the person and work of the Holy Spirit is introduced. This is a crucial part of the Alpha Course and the time during which many guests experience the power of God in a real and intimate way. For many people, this is the most dynamic part of the course.
